  White Paper - CycloLog Plug-in

CycloLog® is a Windows™-based, interactive and user-friendly mathematical software tool developed by Enres International, a Dutch services company for the Oil & Gas industry (www.enresinternational.com). The CycloLog Plug-in for JewelSuite™ is used to generate the so-called INPEFA curve. In general, INPEFA curves are made for facies-sensitive logs such as GR.  However, the analysis is applicable to any log type.

The INPEFA curve reveals trends and trend changes in the lithofacies succession (GR curve) through application of time-series analysis. It, therefore, is a powerful tool for making stratigraphic subdivisions of wells, and, subsequently, generating well-to-well correlations. Building on principles and concepts of Sequence Stratigraphy and Global Cyclostratigraphy, INPEFA-based correlations are considered climate-controlled and near-synchronous.

Using the Cyclolog Plug-in for JewelSuite, you are able to easily transform your well log interpretation scheme into a 3D geocellular model using the patented 3D gridding technology in JewelSuite™. Because JewelSuite and Cyclolog both support a geological hierarchy, the combination provides a natural synergy and provides optimal insight into your reservoir models while interpreting.
