Jewel Suite™ provides 3 ways to create a grid object: the JOA® Gridding process, the JOA® Surface Gridding process and the Easy Grid Creator process.
The JOA® Gridding and Surface Gridding processes are the most advanced geological modeling tools, which are using the patented JOA® Gridding technology to create realistic geological models that honors the complete structural framework that is created.
Once a JOA® Grid is created from a water-tight structural framework of surface, the main grid structure has been defined. On top of that, the JOA® Surface Gridding process provides functionality to add additional layers into the grid, based on detailed well log data and well markers. Well log data can provide detailed information on model layering, more detailed than can be detected and interpreted in the earlier workflow step Seismic Interpretation.
The Easy Grid Creator is used only to create Cartesian based grids without any model surfaces as constraints. No faults will be present in this grid, just a flat volume of cells. It is used to for simple modeling and upscaling scenarios and to test various reservoir simulation scenarios
Example: The unique Jewel Suite™ geological modeling approach: automatically create JOA® Grid based in 3 inputs: the water-tight Structural Framework, the Model Definition describing the vertical layering and hierarchy and the 3D Model Area describing the lateral modeling extend. Using these 3 input, automatically the JOA® Grid will be generated, ensuring realistic, consistent and models with are easy to update.
