Geomodeler - Product Commercialization – Delft, The Netherlands
Job Summary: Under broad direction, utilize geological modeling expertise to expand property and facies modeling elements in JewelSuite and bring these to market. Setup and execute courses on the subject of property and facies modeling, based on JewelSuite. Manage a network of users in industry and academia.
Profile
- Positive, energetic and confident geologist with strong communication and presentation skills, with a minimum of 7 years industry experience.
- Scientific education as sedimentologist with solid minor in geostatistics.
- Extensive experience with Irap/RMS and / or Petrel and Gocad, either as staff of Roxar, SIS or EDS, or as modeller with oil & gas operators or service/contract companies.
- Likes to see own ideas about optimum methods, workflows and user interfaces realised in a modern subsurface modeling package.
- Self-motivated but capable of working in a team of training and support staff.
- Teacher mentality – likes to pass on knowledge, in classes / workshops
Competences:
- Deep understanding of property and facies modeling techniques, from conceptual/scientific basics to implementations in various subsurface modeling packages, covering conventional techniques such as interpolation and simulation methods templated in GsLib, but ideally also 2nd-generation methods such as MPS.
- Technical writing – industry publications, but also “go-to-market” material (tech sheets, brochures)
- Knowledge of various extensions to standard techniques as implemented in software packages, including the respective user-interfaces.
- Numerical and programming skills to a degree that efficient communication with software developers is possible, that algorithmic questions can be discussed suggestions and that existing implementations can be critically tested. Evidence by own software, without further restrictions (from VB macros to C#, everything counts).
- Knowledge of flow simulation techniques and their needs/sensitivities with respect to property distributions.
- Capable of (re-)presenting JewelSuite and its geometrical and property
This job requires extensive traveling and periods away from the home base
